I believe many would have wonder if the vExpert Program will continue since VMware has been acquired by Broadcom recently. I am glad to announce that Corey Romero the program manager for VMware vExpert is continuing the support for the program and this is also Broadcom is supportive of it community recognition. There are calls and multiple resources to help you out with your applications and explanation to the different path. The vExpert 2022 application going to start on 6th Dec 2021. This is the first round of the application cycle for vExpert 2022. Before you head over to apply, you might want to read my experience when I first applied to have the application complete. If you need some help, reach out to your nearest vExpert Pro . They will be more willing to assist and advise you accordingly. Now let's go into how been a vExpert makes a difference. I have been a vExpert over the last 10 years. It was not easy and doesn't just come by just because I am a VMware employee. So don't get the wrong idea, VMware employee needs to also apply and meet the requirements. There are people who have applied and rejected as they do not meet the requirements. There is no such benefit as a VMware employee. This program treats everyone all equal. The vExpert 2021 second half application is starting in June. If have missed out the first half at the beginning of the year, this is your last chance. To top it off this year, VMware vExpert program has create two groups, one is LinkedIn and one is Facebook for people who seek help in their application or looking for mentors to help achieve the vExpert accreditation. Alternatively you can approach your nearest vExpert Pro for advise as well. These are the people who will be assessing all the applications. The annual vExpert program for 2021 will open its application once again. Application open: 21st Nov (US)  Closing date:  8th January 2021 Results will be announced on: 11th February 2021 (US). For those who have have gotten their vExpert accreditation  on the 2nd round application in 2021, will need to apply again. As mentioned, vExpert program is an annual accreditation and will require yearly application this is to ensure, every individual are awarded for your personal contribution to the VMware communities. A few days ago, the vExpert 2019 second half application . Now the vExpert Cloud Management and vExpert NSX subprograms are open. Please note this is based on your past year contribution on the two specific categories namely NSX and Cloud Management. This year Cloud Management is new into the subprogram. The application for VMware vExpert 2019 has now opened again! As usual, there will be two application period one at the beginning of the year and one in the mid of the year. For those who have missed the first time round, this is your last chance. For those who have not accepted into the program in the first application, this is your time to prove your worth into spending thoughts of your contributions to the application. VMware vExpert program is an accreditation given to an individual for their past year effort in contributing to the VMware community via multiple channels. This is a yearly accreditation and the application is open twice a year. The second application opening allows those who lack contribution to have at least 6 months more to prove themselves. I was fortunate to be appointed as a vExpert Pro with other professionals, we were tasked to assess the applications for vExpert 2019 based on past year, 2018, contribution. We have to go through thousands of applications and able to see some with great work while some fall short. This article is to provide some feedback based on my observation and hopefully, those who didn't make it can start improving your contribution when the next application comes in the middle of the year. There are three tracks and I like to mention what to expect in general first and focus on each track later. General In the application form...

The application runs during Jun and Dec each year for two applications cycle. In case you are not notified, do sign up to be notified for the application period  here . For the application for vExpert 2019 is now  open ! So if you are a current vExpert, this year you will still need to fill in the normal form. Head over to the application here . For new applicants, you will need to put up your case to be accredited vExpert for 2019. You can read up more of the requirements from my previous  post  on my experience. For those who are not aware, the application for vExpert 2015 started in November 2014 and today it was announced .  A total of 1028 individuals this time!  That was a big increased from last year 754 at the start of 2014 and 581 from 2013. For those who are new to vExpert, you can follow the update that are entitled to you throughout the year and posted in this community page log into based on your email ID.  Many vendors each with their respective way to reward vExpert either via a NFR use their product or a free T-shirt. For those who have missed the application, this year however there were no news of quarterly application mentioned like last year. Nevertheless, keep up the good work and carry on the contribution you have been doing to be rewarded this accreditation year after year. Once again, congratulation to all individuals. Keep it going! Updating my first blog post this month by the new of the vExpert 2015 kick off while I am busy with vForum Singapore. There are so many great news today.  First the news on VMware by ZDNet as the most important IT vendor. Back to the main subject.  Hurry yourself now head to the blog post to sign up and be accredited vExpert yourself by proving your contribution to the communities. I have previously shared my experience why I started all this sharing.  Do your part, so this community can be leverage on to help you and me and everyone else. With April's Fool day in US, came the announcement of the results .  Of course this is not an April's Fool joke definitely.  Definitely the program team has put in much effort to release this results in just less than 2 months. This year we have a great number of vExperts, a total of 754.  That is a great increased from last year 581.  This is indeed great news as we are seeing the communities has grown tremendously. Of course if you missed out the application or just started in contributing in whichever ways in the VMware communities, you can still apply for vExpert 2014 every quarterly with the new initiative of vExpert 2014 program as I have previously mentioned here .  The application form is open all year round and results will be announced every quarterly. This year the VMware vExpert applications is has started early!  You can find the details here .  You can read my previous post about my first experience during my first application back in vExpert 2012. This year for existing vExpert 2013, you can apply using a short application form using a Fast Track application.  This is very useful and save a lot of trouble of filling all the information all over again.  Great job to the program team! The second new thing is a quarterly nomination which can be done.  So if you are not doing it now and couldn't get this accreditation, don't worry you can still do your part and be nominate in the next. This will allow more individuals and professionals to be awarded. Read about the requirements, you never know you can just be awarded this accreditation.  Apply for it if you are not sure whether your contribution is been described. Don't wait further before it ends on 6th March 2014.

And yes the VMware vExpert 2013 application is now open!  Last year I did a post on what you can do and how I achieve without having the intention to receive any accreditation. You can also get yourself accredited if you do contribute back to the communities related to virtualization and cloud computing. To apply for it go here and remember the closing date is April 15, 2013 Midnight PDT.

After been designated as a vExpert 2012, a few people came to ask me how to apply and what must be done to be a vExpert. Though I may not know how the assessment is been done but the application did list down a few things which will be used as a consideration. I read up the vExpert 2012 application here .  I will also list down what allows you to be consider a vExpert in order to apply before the page get removed since results of vExpert 2012 has already been released.  The shorter criteria description can be found here .
