VMware vExpert 2025 Applications Starts Now!

It the time of the year to apply and renew your vExpert for another year for your effort contribution back to the VMware community over the last 6-12months.  The vExpert 2025 application is now open starting from 6th Dec 2024 and will closed on 10th January 2025. So hurry start your application and fill up all your contribution. You do not have to do it once through, you can always save it in draft and add on and submit before the closing date. If you have doubt reach out or look for your vExpert Pro nearest to you to to advise you accordingly. This year has been a very different year for VMware. However, the vExpert program was valued and carry on. The perks this year been a vExpert will be very different from the investment from Broadcom.  Head over and sign up now. Good luck! Experience as a VMware vExpert and How It Is Different?

The vExpert 2022 application going to start on 6th Dec 2021. This is the first round of the application cycle for vExpert 2022. Before you head over to apply, you might want to read my experience when I first applied to have the application complete. If you need some help, reach out to your nearest vExpert Pro . They will be more willing to assist and advise you accordingly. Now let's go into how been a vExpert makes a difference. I have been a vExpert over the last 10 years. It was not easy and doesn't just come by just because I am a VMware employee. So don't get the wrong idea, VMware employee needs to also apply and meet the requirements. There are people who have applied and rejected as they do not meet the requirements. There is no such benefit as a VMware employee. This program treats everyone all equal. VMware vExpert 2020 Application To Be Open on 25th Nov 2019

Yes, you read it correctly. The vExpert program for the year 2020 will be open next Monday, 25th Nov 2019 PST. This has been announced in the vExpert Twitter tweet . VMware vExpert 2016 Award Announcement!

Once again congratulation to all new and renewed vExpert 2016.  This year we have 1360 awarded with this accreditation.  This is an increased from the first half awarded in 2015 of 754 posted last year.  Almost twice of growth. This year if you have applied and did not see your name been awarded, you can actually write in as stated to vexpert@vmware.com to seek another round of clarity.  Perhaps it could have missed out.  I have been asked by some, this goes down to what did you justify yourself to be awarded this accreditation?  Application does not equal to award if you have not show any evidences of contribution e.g. active reply to discussion group, etc. For those who are new to this award, this grants you discount to events like VMworld as well as meetup during VMworld if you are going.  There are definitely some benefits. Announced of VMware vExpert 2015

For those who are not aware, the application for vExpert 2015 started in November 2014 and today it was announced .  A total of 1028 individuals this time!  That was a big increased from last year 754 at the start of 2014 and 581 from 2013. For those who are new to vExpert, you can follow the update that are entitled to you throughout the year and posted in this community page log into based on your email ID.  Many vendors each with their respective way to reward vExpert either via a NFR use their product or a free T-shirt. For those who have missed the application, this year however there were no news of quarterly application mentioned like last year. Nevertheless, keep up the good work and carry on the contribution you have been doing to be rewarded this accreditation year after year. Once again, congratulation to all individuals. Keep it going! Running vCenter as a VM or Physical Server?

As the virtualization has grown more mature during the years, many users has asked me this  question, especially users who have just ride on the virtualization journey.  There isn't a right or wrong answers however what do you want to achieve at end state.  Do you have what you wanted keeping it at the current state? Let us take look why run the vCenter as physical machine. - Do not feel comfortable running management server as a virtual machine, prefer all management server as a physical machine - Uncomfortable to run the vCenter as part of the virtual infrastructure - Easy to locate the vCenter physical server when required Why run the vCenter as a virtual machine? - Able to enjoy protection from VMware Hight Availability - Able to have DRS perform on vCenter (consider DRS exception or DRS infinity on vCenter) - Less hardware maintenance and better utilize hardware - For higher availability, run vCenter Heartbeat however two set of vCenters is required.
