Hackers Exploit VMware Vulnerability that give Hypervisor Admin

You might have come across the above concern one that was published here . Since the day VMware vSphere was made available, ESX Admins user group if created in Active Directory will be given admin rights to ESXi when a user is place as a member of ESX Admins group. This was not new. I think some people do not know this existed. Moving forward, it seem hackers are now targeting this function to gain admin rights to the hypervisor. For companies that have concern over this and like to change this group membership name, you can follow this KB . Hope this address the concerns.

VMware Horizon 6 Application Remoting Direct Connect

The Scenario ABC company has a remote office and connection back to HQ is not very possible due to bandwidth.  Applications used by the users at the remote office must not have any access to the server directly for security reason and manageability.  The second requirement is the server that serves the applications is not joined to Active Directory. With the release of Horizon View 5.2, we were able to use View Direct Connection without a Connection server or a broker with or without Active Directory.  With this we are able to meet some of the requirements above.  This is currently only possible on VMware Horizon View, Citrix XenDesktop does not have this feature. With the release of VMware Horizon 6, it comes with Application Remoting, this not only allow a RDSH Desktop but now you can provide Application Remoting (Application Presentation similar to Citrix Xenapp).  With this add on feature and the Direct-Connection, this makes Application Remoting witho...

View 5: Deploy Persona Management Overview

Finally I have save this post as a draft for the longest time exactly a month and finally find some time to do this. Have gone through lots of reading of the deployment of View 5.  It almost similar with View 4.6 except for the Persona Management which I was very keen to try it out. The View Administration for View 5 is a must read to understand the Personal Management and also the VMware View Persona Management Deployment Guide . If  you are already using Roaming Profile, you can carry on using it with Persona Management turn on working together leaving the depository stick with what is already configured in your Roaming Profiles. Persona Management will supercede Roaming Profile if you assign a depository path in the group policy.  Honestly I would like ease of work and administration here and will use everything from Persona Management instead. When doing sizing, if performance is what you are looking for, even with Persona Management or with Roam...
