Sizing VMware VCF VVF vSphere License

With the new SKU release in simplifying customer purchase, there are certain guideline in place in purchasing the different license SKU.  To help architects from partners and also end user, I have created this simple calculator for ease of sizing the license needed. Update 13th Feb 2024 The minimum requirement for vSAN Add-on has been removed. There is no longer a 8TiB per CPU requirement as updated on KB .

VMware vExpert 2021 Application

The annual vExpert program for 2021 will open its application once again. Application open: 21st Nov (US)  Closing date:  8th January 2021 Results will be announced on: 11th February 2021 (US). For those who have have gotten their vExpert accreditation  on the 2nd round application in 2021, will need to apply again. As mentioned, vExpert program is an annual accreditation and will require yearly application this is to ensure, every individual are awarded for your personal contribution to the VMware communities. Applications for Storage or Storage for Applications?

With many new start ups from storage arrays, converged, hyper-converged to software defined storage (SDS), many users starts to have lots of choice to make. Recently encountering many questions on which should they choose and which is better.  However there is no straight answer as there are just too many choices to choose from just like in a supermarket.  In the end, some may choose one that advertise the best and create the best reminder in your mind.  To be truth, you will not buy and replaced the rest, but rather some have a hybrid environment for some reasons which we will go through later.
